This position is key to support the activities of 2 clusters within GCSP: Leadership & Strategy, and Gender & Inclusive Security. This includes a strategic partnership between the GCSP and The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). A start-up initiative, now in its third year, to build a leadership community in the Peace and Security sectors supported by new and innovative leadership development service offerings for that community. You will work proactively as part of a small agile team within the Leadership, Crisis and Conflict Management Programme, dedicated to growing this multi-dimensional initiative going into its third year and you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent project coordination, event management and be responsible for the end-to-end customer experience of participants for courses, workshops and dialogue events in our Geneva center and elsewhere as required;
  • Prepare course and event materials, course reports and evaluation activities, including improving the integration of an online learning platform to offer blended programmes in the future;
  • Assist in creating and manage a new reporting dashboard and provide administrative support to the team, our clients, and our stakeholders;
  • Contribute to and monitor the impact of online and social media presence to increase event participation and inform community-building activities;
  • Assist in the creation of high-quality communication and promotional materials to increase awareness of this initiative, and help generate new beneficiary and funding leads;
  • Conduct both market and thematic research that will inform the focus of activities and the development of new service offerings;
  • Perform other responsibilities as required in support of realising the mission of the Leadership and Inclusive Security clusters.

You will have the following skills and competencies:

  • A university degree in an area related to international relations, event management, media/communications or related fields (relevant vocational qualifications alongside additional years of project management or external communications experience equivalence can be considered in lieu).
  • Two years relevant experience in events and project management and related reporting activities. Ideally in an educational environment.
  • Experience of using online and social media functions to create awareness and engage with current and future participants.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Proficiency in French is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills, a customer service mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with colleagues, partners and customers from diverse professional sectors and cultures; respect for diversity.
  • Ability to work autonomously with a minimum of guidance. 
  • EU or Swiss citizen or holder of a valid Swiss work permit.
