About the Swiss Malaria Group

The Swiss Malaria Group (SMG) is a Swiss leadership network of public, private, research and civil society organizations for a malaria free world.

Switzerland is a pioneer in the fight against malaria. The Swiss Federal Office for Development Cooperation (SDC) initiated the group in 2007 together with the Swiss TPH, Novartis, the Swiss Red Cross and others. Now the Swiss Malaria Group’s secretariat coordinates the activities of the Swiss Malaria Group and its 15 members. The Secretariat is based in the office of Medicus Mundi Switzerland in Basel.

SMG’s mission is to engage Swiss leaders to:

    •  Recognize the work of the Swiss malaria community
    •  Provide leadership against malaria
    •  Strengthen research and innovation
    •  Fight malaria on the ground


  • Event and project management: Preparation of various events and management of projects such as World Malaria Day in Switzerland 2017
  • Multistakeholder network coordination
  • Assistance in communication: Content Management Web/Social Media/coordination of media work
  • General administrative support to the secretariat (max. 10%)


We are looking for an open-minded, outgoing and engaged young personality with a strong interest in international health and development co-operation:

  • Very good oral and written English and French (German is an asset)
  • Good collaboration and organisation skills with external partners (NGOs/public and private sector)
  • Good know-how of Swiss context and political system
  • Bachelor degree in relevant field (preferably background in communications, media relations)
